SATA Rev 3 - faster than SATA 1 and SATA 2 combined

2008 was rich in updating various computer interfaces. Changes have undergone FireWire and USB, but now it came to SATA. The Serial ATA International Organization (SATA-IO) has announced new specifications for serial data exchange with SATA Revision 3.x data storage devices. Now the data exchange will occur at a speed of 6 Gb / s, while for SATA Revision 1.x this figure was 1.5 Gb / s, and for SATA Revision 2.x - 3 Gb / s. Also, the new interface should be more energy efficient. The standard provides full backward compatibility of the new revision with SATA Revision 2.x / 1.x. It remains only to put on the market the appropriate drives.
