Highload-magistracy: we swing materiel

Together with the MAI Avito opens the master's program “Designing High-Load Internet Services”, training will begin in September 2018. Why go there and what the main chips, we tell in this article. Under the cat you can also meet with teachers and register for a webinar dedicated to the curriculum.

Probably, there is not a single person who is completely satisfied with the system of higher education - often training takes place in isolation from real tasks, with excessive theorization, and people sometimes teach very different subjects from industry.

In high school specialties related to computer science, programming and other technical disciplines, there has been a tendency for students to interrupt their studies immediately after receiving a bachelor's degree - the first stage of higher education. This is largely due to the fact that studying at work is much faster and more efficient. But it’s not just that higher education methodologists have designed these two master’s years of study (approximately 20 subjects + diploma). In theory, they are designed to significantly deepen and systematize the four years of the previous undergraduate degree.

We decided that a master's program with an emphasis on practice, with senior- and middle-developers as teachers, is exactly what is necessary for topical higher education. Together with leading teachers and methodologists of the MAI, in the framework of the IT Magistracy Initiative , we have compiled a curriculum that will give graduates a really quick start in Highload development.

The main training tracks from Avito (in addition to practice - coursework and diploma) will be architecture and testing of highly loaded systems (216 hours), debugging and profiling (108 hours), and developing web applications in Python (144 hours).
In 2018-2019, the master provides for 10 budget and 6 paid places. And of course, training involves obtaining a state diploma, a postponement from the army and obtaining a place in a hostel.

A few words to the graduate teachers.

image Alexander Lukyanchenko, Avito server developer:

“The possibility of gaining experience from leading experts of leading companies in the industry and the maximum focus on practice, perhaps, distinguishes our magistracy from many others, and makes it effective.”

image Nikolai Balakirev, head of Avito.PRO development:

“We will teach students modern approaches in the field of high-load systems. We will teach you to choose and apply technologies to ensure the quality and speed of development of these systems. ”

More information about the master's program is available on the official website of the MAI .

Today, May 29, at 17:00 Moscow time, an online open day will be held where we will talk in detail about the concept of training and answer questions.
