He looks cool and premium. Design is clearly one of the strengths of the gadget, and it really looks like what DJI would do underwater drones if they did, of course.


The company considers its target audience to be fishing enthusiasts and independent researchers of the underwater world and underwater photography. This is a kind of miniature submarine with some fishing rod functions, an integrated camera and a removable echo sounder that can be used separately - the PowerSeeker element.



Immersion opportunities are up to 30 meters, and for the entire time PowerRay is shooting in 4K and streaming it to a smartphone in Full HD format (IOS / Android). The locator notices the fish with an accuracy of 10 cm, after which it begins to lure it, which can also be observed in real time.

Moreover, preventing some negative from fishermen who are skeptical about geek fishing, the head of the company emphasizes that the drone does not make it easier to catch fish. PowerRay only shows the bottom and tells you if there is something alive in this place, and then further on.



In calm water, the autonomy of the drone is designed for 4 hours of work, and up to a full battery, the PowerRay charges 2 - 2.5 hours.

Returning to the beginning. In the original post about underwater drones, the PowerRay device could compete and probably will be with the development of OpenROV and Gladius. The stated maximum depth of these devices is up to 100 meters.

PowerRay is able to dive up to 30 meters, but it still finds the fish forty meters below it, which gives it a formally additional 40 meters of depth, which in general is already about 70. At the same time, PowerRay wins in the design and configuration, and the options for picking depending on the task and the intended use case.
