Intel Atom C3000 - The Most Powerful Atom
Unlike the Intel Core, the Intel Atom processor line is updated extremely irregularly; Some families are generally discontinued, and in other new products you can wait for years. More surprising is the massive launch of 15 new Intel Atom models with the C index at once. However, the most interesting thing is different: for the first time in history, the top model of the Atom C3000 series has as many as 16 cores! Other characteristics of the C3000 are also quite impressive, in fact, we got a new server platform - or rather, a microserver.
Processors of the new family have indices from 3308 to 3958 , they are made according to the 14-nm process technology. The number of cores varies from 2 to 16 (there is no hyper-routing), the frequency is from 1.6 to 2 GHz. Cache size ranges from 4 to 16 MB. Up to 256 GB ECC DDR4-2133 memory is supported, in most models the memory is dual-channel.
Integrated SoC controllers provide from 6 to 20 PCI Express lanes, 8 USB 3.0 ports, up to 16 SATA 6 Gb / s ports. Separately worth mentioning onboard network controller that supports up to 4 10-gigabit ports. There is a full range of virtualization features, some models support Intel Turbo Boost and Intel QuickAssist technologies. In general, in terms of power consumption (and the maximum TDP does not exceed 30 watts), the performance indicators look impressive. Historically, the C-series was designed for embedded solutions, network devices and storage. But now it is a full-fledged server line that allows you to create miniature, but powerful computers.

Pay attention to the number and variety of ports; especially unaccustomed to the impressive on-board SFP + module - and all this on a mini-ITX size board.
