ZMORPH 2.0 SX - more than a 3D printer

The Polish company Zmorph, which began developing its device in 2012 as part of the open-source project RepRap, has already gone far from the initial concept of a simple and cheap 3D printer for the masses. Now its products are not just a printer for volumetric printing, but a multipurpose machine, differing only in size from the best industrial designs - it is still placed on a regular desk.

What can he do?
')
ZMORPH 2.0 SX is a unit enclosed with a transparent casing, the filling of which allows precise positioning of the working heads in three dimensions. The wide functionality of these heads, as well as their easy replaceability, is the uniqueness of this device.

The concept of interchangeable working units allows for the widest range of operations — traditional 3D printing, CNC milling, laser engraving and cutting, as well as 3D printing with thick substances — from clay and silicone to food materials.

The device is equipped with a convenient touch control panel, and preparation and work are carried out using special software Voxelizer Software. The work area of a 3D printer is 250 by 235 millimeters, and precision is provided by precision stepper motors.

Types of nozzles:

Laser head

The Zmorph laser head is equipped with a double-sided blue diode laser, easily cutting and engraving materials such as plastic, paper, cardboard, foil, fabrics, plywood, wood and leather. The recommended working speed is 5 mm / sec.

Thick Paste Extruder Thick Materials Extruder

This extruder allows two-dimensional and three-dimensional printing with a dense substance, such as silicone, clay, dough or chocolate. Printed materials are easily replaced in seconds in standard replaceable syringe containers, which provides convenience and hygiene. The speed of work depends on the density of the material and the width of the nozzle of the syringe, and is in the range from 10 to 100 millimeters per second.

Plastic extruder DUAL PRO

The ZMorph DUAL PRO plastic extruder is one of the most advanced devices in this area today, it allows you to print two different materials with the same melting point and fluidity, for example, in different colors, and makes it possible to mix them in a controlled manner for different visual effects.

ZMorph DUAL PRO allows you to print with various plastics in standard reels, with a thickness of 1.75 mm. Despite one nozzle and one temperature sensor, mixing gives an advantage from using different materials - if one of them is soluble in water and used to support printing, it is possible to create complex shapes that are inaccessible for use by conventional 3D printers.

Ordinary single extruders are also available: standard, 1.75 mm, and wide - 3 mm.

ZMorph DualHead Extruder

The ZMorph DualHead extruder is another interesting nozzle for this machine. In this extruder there are two independent heating elements and temperature sensors, respectively - and two separate nozzles, which makes it possible to work simultaneously with two materials with different melting points.

The use of readily soluble materials, in combination with the usual ones, will help create incredible and unattainable for a regular 3D printer complex volume objects. For example - consisting of separate, unrelated parts, or objects from materials of different colors, transparency, and different mechanical properties.

CNC PRO milling head

ZMorph CNC PRO is a milling nozzle for engraving, milling and cutting various materials. The head is equipped with one milling cutter, but you can buy a few additional ones - of various diameters and shapes. It cuts easily, cuts out bas-relief images and does everything else that a CNC milling machine is capable of.

It works with all kinds of plastics, wood and plywood, various composite materials like textolite, fiberglass and G10, and even with solid plexiglass and polycarbonate. Included in the device is a special table for milling, which is attached to the base of the printer with magnets.

All nozzles are replaced in seconds and are immediately ready for use, and these are not empty words - watch the video on the manufacturer's website - this happens as simply and quickly as putting the electric kettle.

Who needs it?

It is still difficult to imagine such a thing in every house, because even a basic kit - with one simple single extruder 1.76 mm and a milling nozzle - will cost the buyer $ 4,000.

What, however, for true enthusiasts and craftsmen - quite feasible, albeit not immediately, the amount. In the near future, such a unit may appear anywhere from the kitchen to the office. And about its value for various workshops and talk too.
