On August 6, 2016, the world's largest aircraft — the 92-meter Airlander 10 airship —
first left the flight hangar at Cardington airfield in Bedfordshire (United Kingdom) to prepare for flight testing.

The development of a unique aircraft-airship for nine years was engaged in the British company Hybrid Air Vehicles, with the initial participation of the US military.

It is assumed that the giant aircraft can be used for communications, cargo transportation, surveillance, humanitarian missions and passenger traffic.

On the morning of August 6, the Airlander 10 squeezed through the gate of the hangar, and then it was transported to its destination for 30 minutes. This was the first public appearance of a £ 25 million vessel, given the name Martha Gwyn.
Inspection of engines, generators and all systems of the aircraft-airship was completed a week earlier, and ground tests now begin. The date of the first flight has not yet been announced.
The car is about 18 meters longer than the largest passenger plane Boeing 747.

As
reported on Geektimes, the aircraft-airship with helium filling can carry payloads of up to 10 tons and fly without landing for up to five days in a row with the crew on board, and in unmanned mode - up to three weeks. The maximum speed is 150 km / h.
