SpaceX unveiled the official video of landing a Falcon 9 stage on an offshore platform.

Last week, SpaceX was able to land the Falcon 9 rocket for the second time on an offshore platform after launching the rocket itself and launching 35,000 km of the JCSAT 14 communications satellite with a mass of 5 tons into Earth orbit. Due to the fact that the rocket had to fly higher than before, the fuel for landing remained much less than in previous cases. But the company's specialists coped with this task, and the return stage without any problems sat down on the sea platform.

Previously, the company published several photos and videos from a distant shooting position, but now a record of the rocket landing is presented from three different angles, in high quality and at close range. Let me remind you that from half to two thirds of launches, according to company representatives, will end with the landing of the first step on the sea platform, and not on the land.

In addition to the video, there are photos, the company published them in their account on Flickr .

As for the previous launch, the satellite also occupied the calculated orbit, so that both missions - and the removal of cargo into the previously planned orbit, and the return stage - failed. This is a very important step for the company, as it plans to reuse the Falcon 9 stage, cheapening the launch cost. And the success that we managed to repeat indicates that the process of returning and landing the spent stage of the spacecraft is already well established.
