On April 18, Beltelecom announced a new service - the
Smart Home system .

As indicated on the operator’s website, the “Smart Home” service from Beltelecom is a simple and economical solution that helps ensure monitoring and management of safety, comfort and resource saving in the subscriber’s premises.
And after 10 days, the basic set was on my table, or rather on the floor.
The kit includes a controller and three sensors: smoke, traffic and opening doors / windows. Additional equipment is not yet possible. It may include a different number of sensors, as well as other devices: a video camera, a siren, a smart socket, temperature and humidity sensors, and water leakage sensors.
The so-called controller turned out to be a wireless access point HUAWEI EchoLife HS3025
There is one gigabit WAN port, and two 100-megabit ports.
A
ZigBee transceiver is connected to the USB port.
The sensors use battery size CR2
Included is everything for mounting sensors.
The basic setup of the entire kit was not a big deal, although I had to look into the instructions. But the lack of a lot of information will cause an unprepared user to have setup problems.
Wonders of ergonomics. The kit requires a wand for pressing a button.
Today, the software is available only for Android. The program allows you to monitor the status of sensors, receive data on changes in their status and create scenarios of equipment operation. Notifications can be sent not only directly to the program, but also via SMS. Given that the service is “family”, the program has the ability to create additional accounts for other family members.
Not without a fly in the ointment. At the moment, switching between “Home” and “Not home” modes does not work, which does not allow for full testing - the controller is turned off so that the motion sensor does not reach. Any plug-in can not be updated in any way, possibly due to this. (Note from 05.05.2016. The problem has been fixed)
Of course, from three sensors and a controller, your home will not become a “smart home”. For a full-fledged smart home you need more equipment. Only information devices and sensors will be scarce, actuators are also necessary, for example, in the event of a water leakage, the electronic valve is triggered, and the water is turned off.
Nevertheless, this service will allow you to familiarize yourself with the capabilities of modern systems, and perhaps in the future you will build your ideal smart home.

PS In the near future, I hope I can get a video camera, a siren, a power outlet, a temperature and humidity sensor, and a water leakage sensor. We consider them in a separate article.
