The state will limit the use of foreign electronics

Russian electronics is several times more expensive than imported ones, so you have to ban car terminals on foreign chips

On April 5, in Zelenograd, the Angstrem-T enterprise held a field meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the development and production of the electronic component base (ECB). It was discussed how the domestic industry is ready to produce ERA-GLONASS terminals and other equipment on its own element base.

Experts estimated that at the moment it is possible to localize the production of terminals at 30%, and for the import substitution of the remaining 70%, it will take from one to three years, subject to receiving investments in the following amount:

An important condition is that for the successful development of the Russian ECB, it is imperative to limit the import of foreign electronics or to prohibit the installation of foreign terminals, which are several times cheaper (4,000 rubles instead of 12,000 rubles). The relevant documents are prepared by the government of the Russian Federation and the Military-Industrial Commission, writes Izvestia.

In the near future, the ECB import substitution program will be adopted for GLONASS navigation receivers of onboard devices of the ERA-GLONASS system.

Following the meeting, the Ministry of Industry and Trade was also instructed to “prepare proposals for adjusting the technical regulations of the Customs Union (TS)“ On the safety of wheeled vehicles ”in terms of setting requirements for the use of ERA-GLONASS navigation terminals using the Russian ECB”.

We are talking about all the cars that are registered in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan. From 2017, they must be equipped with the ERA-GLONASS terminal. If amendments are adopted to the technical regulations, then this terminal must work on Russian electronics. We are talking about about 2 million cars a year. Such a huge market should give impetus to the development of domestic microelectronics.

In addition to GLONASS, manufacturers are asking for funding and support from the state in other areas: “It requires state support in the fight against the world's largest manufacturers, who did not stand still,” said Angstrem General Director Konstantin Nosov. - A striking example of such concern for the domestic manufacturer are the national payment cards of China and Japan. There were adopted clear restrictions on the use of national standards microchips in payment systems. We didn’t dare to do this when creating a national payment card system. ”
