James Cameron will shoot all 4 sequels of "Avatar" at the same time

“This is probably the most difficult thing I've ever done,” the director says.

What part of shoot today?

As already reported on Geektimes , director James Cameron announced his intention to release not one and not two, but four sequels of "Avatar". Now he has made another statement - it turns out that all these parts will be filmed simultaneously.

')

“This will not be a turn-based work. This is one big job. It looks like they usually shoot mini-series. We will shoot all the parts of [Avatar] at the same time. So, on Monday, I will work on the scene from the fourth sequel, on Tuesday - on the scene from the first sequel ... This is probably the most difficult thing I've ever done. I am sure that for the actors this is also a challenge ... It is a saga. It’s just like all three parts of The Godfather would be filmed at the same time, Cameron said.

The director also regrets that during the filming of Alien he did not have modern technologies that would make the Queen of Aliens as realistic as possible. Now he is going to apply all available technologies in order to make the world of Avatar realistic.

Sergeant Ripley, is that you?

Cameron noted that Avatar is not going to compete with Star Wars, the release dates of movies in theaters will be different. The first sequel to Avatar will appear in cinemas at Christmas 2018. The remaining parts will appear in 2020, 2022 and 2023.

At the moment, Avatar is the highest grossing film in the history of cinema. He earned more than $ 3 billion, even ahead of Titanic with its $ 2 billion.
