WhatsApp innovations: text formatting and quick response from notifications

WhatsApp developers do not sit back and prepare several updates of the most popular messenger of the planet. Among the most interesting is the answer directly from the notification and the formatting of the text of messages.

The beta version 2.12.560 has the opportunity to respond directly from the message notification that appears on the screen. To do this, the notification button provides a Reply. Clicking on it opens a window for a quick response.

By clicking on the profile picture, a menu of additional functions now appears, which was previously available by long pressing the contact. This has made it possible to select several contacts or group chats and, in one click, apply to them those features that they may have in common - for example, mark everything as read.



Also, the developers presented text formatting - now you can select arbitrary sections of it in bold, italicized or strikethrough . A combination of these methods is also available.

To make the text bold, you need to place an asterisk before and after the desired passage: * bold *. For oblique text, an underscore _ is used, for a strikethrough, a tilde ~.

So far, new features are available for those who are not afraid to update applications to beta versions. To do this, you must either become a member of the messenger beta testing program , or download and install the latest apk-files manually.
