’s Golodek has become a little closer: the US Army Soldier’s Equipment Research Center (NSRDEC) presented its new development, the virtual reality dome, which will analyze the environmental impact on soldiers, their decision making, spatial memory, and orientation to the terrain.
The device is a spherical screen with an overview of 180 degrees, the image on which is formed by several projectors. A person inside the dome will be able to work out various training missions with game manipulators, copying military weapons in shape and mass,

"The integration of several input forms, along with multi-touch feedback, increases realism, immersion and first-person interaction, subjected to a long, intense load," said program manager Dr. Caroline Mahoney.

“In the coming years, additional input methods and multi-touch feedback will be integrated into the system to enhance immersion,” said Mahoney. The new features will include motion tracking, low-frequency vibration, wind direction and “vibro-tactile feedback” —the environment will be so realistic that the virtual environment will respond to any movement or human action.
Based on the data obtained, NSRDEC plans to develop new equipment and technologies that will help the military on the battlefield.
