reported at Geektimes, on March 4, the former owner of the Litmere electronic library, Stepan Entsov, was sentenced to two years of probation on the suit of the Eksmo publishing house. He was charged under part 3 of clause “c” of Article 146 (“Illegal use of objects of copyright or related rights, as well as the acquisition, storage, transportation of counterfeit works, committed on a large scale”). According to a lawsuit from another publisher, Roskmonadzor blocked both the main URL of the library and the IP resource.

Four days after the verdict, Stepan Entsov opened an exact copy of the library, but with a different name and address. The new resource is called "Litlife", and it is located at litlife.club,
writes "Gazeta.ru". It is worth noting that the previous resource passed into the possession of representatives of the company "Litres" and the Association for the Protection of Copyright on the Internet (AZAPI).
“It was accused of violating copyright related rights in 90 books. Representatives of "Liters" and AZAPI demanded to give them a website for its further destruction and pay monetary compensation, otherwise they threatened to charge them with violating copyright and related rights in several thousand books. He agreed. So there was a change of the owner of the site "Litmir", - said in a message moderator "Irishka" on "Litlife".
Nobody hides the fact that the new site is the successor of the old resource. The team "Litmer" in full force moved to "Litlife". Saved site design, database and even the nicknames of moderators and administrators. “Our promised surprise is a completely restored database from the old site. All your profiles, comments, bookmarks, forum, ratings, books - we managed to collect it all, ”the same moderator reports. In this part of the books on the new site there, because they are blocked at the request of the owners.
But as for the policy of the new resource, it is quite different. Thus, the administration of the resource considers "Litlife" an information mediator. The blame for copyright infringement lies with users. Separately, it is said that the administration does not monitor the content, since there is simply no technical possibility.
In addition, the administration of "Lytlife" is now blocking the controversial books on the appeal of copyright holders.
According to Vladimir Starinsky, managing partner of the lawyer's board, “Starinsky, Korchago and Partners”, a change in the site’s policy affects civil liability to a small extent. “If the right holder applies the norms of the Civil Code, access to pirated information will have to be blocked or the site itself will be blocked. With regard to criminal liability, the specific circumstances of the case and the activities of the site’s administration (intent, the purpose of profit, the amount of damage, etc.) matter, ”the lawyer comments on the situation
