Aido - home robot of the new generation for the price of a smartphone

Even before the launch of the project at Indiegogo Californian company Ingen Dynamics Inc. managed to collect nominations at prestigious technology exhibitions. How does Aido work

Aido functions are controlled by three processor units - two quad-core ARM7 (1.6 GHz) and dual-core A23 (1.5 GHz). Special attention deserves the maneuverability of the robot and the mechanism of movement.

Aido is designed as a “ballbot” with a ball as a chassis. Because of this, the robot is in constant motion and search for balance. On the other hand, it allows him to easily go around any obstacles, to be very mobile and nimble:



It is impossible to dump Aido on one side - if the deviation is more than 4 degrees from the vertical position (with a sharp jerk, for example), the legs-stops come out of his “body”.

For visualization of objects 3 cameras are used. One of them works in the infrared. Wireless communication Aido performs the protocols ZigBee, Z-Wave, WiFi and BLE.
