The business of creating video games is gaining momentum all over the world. According to analysts at Digi-Capital, the total volume of the games market in 2016 will be $ 90 billion, and by 2020 these figures will grow to $ 115 billion! The revenues of individual companies have already reached several billion dollars, and the most profitable game in the world of League of Legends in 2015 alone earned $ 1.6 billion.

In such conditions, new companies develop game development and expands the staff of existing ones. But at the same time there are not so many highly qualified specialists in the game-dev market. In the conditions of a shortage of personnel in the gaming industry market, and also due to the lack of educational institutions of this profile, in 2014, the program of professional retraining “Management of online gaming projects” (IIAI) was launched at the base of the Higher School of Business Informatics (VSHBI). supported by our company All Correct Group. Already 40 people have become students of this program, many of whom have managed to get jobs in large Russian game companies (for example, Mail.Ru Group, RJ Games and others) or even create their own indie projects.

IIPI actually became the first in Russia training program for the gaming industry, implemented on the basis of a higher educational institution. Upon completion of the 9-month course, a diploma of the established model of the Higher School of Economics on professional retraining is issued.

The composition of the areas in which they are trained is quite extensive and includes our favorite localization, game design, game project management and operation, community management, as well as player technical support, Internet marketing, game projects monetization, virtual reality and a number of other disciplines.

The classes are conducted by leading experts from large gaming companies, as well as by representatives of organizations from the field of information technologies . In 2016, the recruitment is already open for the third stream of students of the IIPI program, and will also be recruited for the new short training program “ Basics of Game Development ”, which lasts only 6 days.

In honor of this event, on February 2, 2016, the Graduate School of Business Informatics invites everyone interested in creating games for an open and free-of-charge lecture on “ How to create your own game? ".



The lecture is read by Konstantin Sakhnov , director of game design at RJ Games, research manager of the professional retraining program “Gaming Internet Projects Management”, mentor and expert of the Skolkovo investment fund in the gaming industry, author of gaming courses on Netology, as well as game design at VSBI and RealTimeSchool. The open lecture, which will last 4 academic hours, will explore the following questions about creating your own game projects:

â—Ź How to start? Consideration of the actual experience of launching the game, which will be useful for both novice developers and producers launching new projects.

â—Ź Stages of game development. Step by step instructions based on the practices used in Russian and foreign studios.

â—Ź Team tasks at each development stage. A practical example of the processes of the studio RJ Games.

â—Ź Paper work. Acquaintance with the full cycle of creating documentation: vision, concept, design document and technical task.
At the end of the lecture, students will learn about what awaits the developer on the way to creating their own game, will be able to ask questions to the speaker and even get homework.
