Speaking at a conference in Hong Kong in honor of the tenth anniversary of the formation of the Microsoft Research Asia research division, the Microsoft founder shared his views on the development of user interfaces and online services, and also predicted the upcoming software revolution.
The main points of Gates who left Microsoft but didn’t retire are:
- Software as a service. More precisely, the greater distribution of this model. Everything on the Web - calculations, storage and processing of files. This, according to Bill, is the software revolution.
- The development of interaction interfaces. According to Bill Gates, after 10 years, the UI will definitely turn on voice and touch control (here, of course, a hint of Surface).
- Artificial Intelligence. Maybe.
As Gizmodo noticed very subtly, Gates has a strange future. Google applications (software as a service), iPhone and the same Surface (interface) and, possibly, AI in robots. Good to be able to predict the future. More precisely, already existing. Well, except AI, of course. Or did Bill just have nothing to say?
