Lost connection with Angolan geostationary satellite AngoSat-1
The launch took place on December 26, 2017 at 10:00 pm Moscow time from the Baikonur cosmodrome on the Zenith rocket. The operator was S7 - the only Russian private company providing space launch services.
After separation from the “Frigate” upper stage, the unit contacted, but then the telemetry disappeared. The manufacturer of the satellite, the corporation "Energy", has already confirmed the loss of communication with the device. Specialists are trying to restore the connection and there is a chance, because similar cases have already been with other satellites, for example: Foton-M, STEREO-9, KazSat and others. ')
AngoSat-1 was to be the first Angolan geostationary communication satellite to provide broadcasting in the C and Ku frequency bands to the territory of the Republic of Angola, as well as to the territory of the entire African continent.
UPD : "Previously, the main version is considered to be a short circuit in the bus, which is responsible for satellite power," said an Interfax source. UPD 2: RSC Energia specialists have established communication with the failed AngoSat-1 satellite, and telemetry has been obtained from it.
