Reducing the duty-free threshold to 20 euros - already in the draft federal budget for 2018-2020

The article at RBC contains information that the threshold for duty-free importation of goods into the Russian Federation will soon be reduced to 20 euros. This follows from the annex to the explanatory note to the draft budget for 2018–2020. The powers of the customs office of individuals are planned to be allocated to the Post of Russia.



Earlier it was planned that the threshold would be lowered in 2018 from 1,000 to 500 euros, and in 2019 to 200 euros.



By reducing the threshold 50 times, the government plans to additionally collect 30 billion rubles in 2018, and 60 billion rubles in 2019 and 2020. Why will the additional fees in the first year be two times less than in the next? The point is that the introduction of the duty is planned for the second half of 2018 .

A similar decrease in the threshold is actively supported by Russian retailers, who point to an increase in purchases on the Internet (+ 21% in 2016, while traditional retailers decreased by 5.2%), the lion's share of which is from purchases from abroad.
