IRidium-based smart home in residential areas of Skolkovo

Our blog was resting for a while, so there will be several posts about what was going on “while he was sleeping”. The current year has begun for us with the start of a project that symbolizes in a remarkable way the direction of movement of a private multi-family construction. Market demand is not so much growing, so developers are looking for ways to improve housing with a minimal increase in budget.

On January 31, Viktor Vekselberg handed the keys to the first residents of the Tetris quarter in Skolkovo. The quarter is distinguished by the presence of a home automation system in each apartment: control of lighting, climate, leakage control, accounting of resources, and door phone system.
The integrator is IBC Solutions. iRidium is used in each apartment, the owners will be able to use the i3 lite application to monitor and control all functions on iOS / Android / Windows devices (although for the first demonstration apartments they chose a more familiar version of iRidium, adapted to the version of the operating system in room touch panels).

This is one of the (so far) few projects whose developers have understood the obvious trend: the use of an automation system in each apartment may cost less (for example) plumbing, but it only positively affects sales. The budget is minimal, but all welcome speeches begin with the words about the Smart Home, visitors to the demo apartments ask first how it works, paying little attention to the rest. And leaving the 30-meter apartment say "small, but cool!", Instead of the usual "well, not bad, but closely."

The functionality in each apartment is rather basic:
- (most importantly) passive safety functions (leakage control, etc.) and metering
- intercom - general access and apartment
- climate and lighting control

This is initially available from the central intercom panel (2N and BAS-IP brands are used), if desired, residents use their devices for management (i3 lite application).

The ability to extend features includes:
- connection to the Management Company system (balance, announcements, repair requests, etc.)
- management of AV and home appliances (Samsung Smarthome and other modules available in the iRidium store ).

Next - just a few photos from the opening:

Well, the author, suddenly someone is interested =)

There are many different things on the market now, so we are, of course, asked, “why use your product?”. There are about a hundred factors, but two come to the fore:

1. Using iRidium in such projects frees them from being tied to any brand or automation protocol, leaving the freedom of choice to the integrator and users.
2. The ability to develop the system, not pulling an integrator, is also worth a lot: edit scripts, create simple schedules, the user can independently in i3 lite.

At the end of a small prediction, not differing originality. Judging by the number of requests that we receive, the use of any of the Smart Home systems in multi-apartment buildings that sell finished apartments will become the de facto standard already in 2-3 years.
