Earth bye

The mission to the comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko completed a controlled fall on the comet. The Rosetta’s mission, dramatic in some places, began in 2004, when the spacecraft went to the comet and reached it in August 2014. On November 12, Fila was launched onto the comet's surface. The malfunction of the device did not allow it to lock onto the surface of the comet, bouncing off the surface of which, Fila stuck under a rock called “Perihelion Cliff”, where it was photographed on September 2, 2016, almost a month before the end of the Rosetta mission.

PS ragequit just beat me. The publication is dedicated to the last maneuver of the device.

The final rosette maneuver is shown in the animation:

The maneuver was performed at 20:50 GMT (23:50 Moscow time) and Rosette began to move closer to the comet, “falling” from a height of about 19 km at a speed of about 0.5 m / s.
')
During the fall of "Rosetta" continued study of the comet. Studied gases, dust and plasma comet. Take pictures of the comet. Approximately 1.5 km from the comet, the narrow-angle camera stopped focusing, and the wide-angle camera at a distance of about 300 meters stopped. All the data "Rosette" managed to transfer to Earth before the collision with a comet.

Communication ceased today at 11:19 GMT (14:19 Moscow time) due to the impact of the comet and the loss of orientation of the narrow antenna to Earth, as reported in the official blog of the mission.
