The creature was discovered by Matthew Whitton and Rick Daer in the forests in northern Georgia (for security reasons, the exact location is kept secret.)
Daer is a former correctional officer, Vitton is a local police officer who is on leave after being recently injured in the service. They are co-owners of the site bigfoottracker.com and Bigfoot Global LLC - a company that organizes expeditions to find a snowman.
Vitton and Daher have been working closely with Tom Bascardi, the yeti hunter who has been studying the Bigfoot since 1971. Tom traveled all over North America and Canada, trying to film a snowman. Mounted last year, the film, which tells about his research, won the first prize in the Documentary Cinema category at the Pocono Mountains Film Festival. The radio program, the founder of which is also Tom, entirely devoted to the snowman, is broadcast over the Internet every Wednesday on bigfootliveradioshow.com.
A few weeks ago, Witton and Daer announced that they had found the body of a creature that fit the description of the snowman. They did not allow anyone to inspect the body, except Tom Bascardi, who the next day contacted them and got involved in the work.

In the near future, the discovery should be investigated by a whole council of scientists. Bascardi argues that all the results of the work of specialists will soon be made public.
Evidence of the existence of a snowman - DNA analysis and photographs from the scene will be shown on Friday night, August 15, at a press conference to be held at the Cabana Hotel-Palo Alto in California. It is important to note that the conference will not be open to everyone, only pre-accredited journalists will be able to get there.
