State Duma: all drones heavier than 250 grams need to register
Today, State Duma deputies adopted in the third reading a bill that requires the mandatory registration of UAVs weighing more than 250 grams, writes Slon. Aircraft easier to register 250 grams is optional.
The document was supported by an absolute majority of deputies - 438 people voted for. Nobody spoke against, there are no abstentions either.
Interestingly, the early version of the bill, which was adopted in the first reading in June, required the mandatory registration of drones heavier than 30 kilograms.
The draft law also clarifies terms such as “unmanned aircraft”, “unmanned aircraft system”, “commander of an unmanned aircraft” and “external crew”. All these terms are introduced into the Air Code.

For UAVs, an exception is made - there is no need to store the necessary flight documentation on board the UAVs.
