PINE64 - a fairly powerful mini-PC for only $ 15

If a few years ago someone had said that for $ 35 you can get a functional personal computer, you would just laugh at him. However, now mini-PCs are priced at $ 5 or $ 9 - recall the Raspberry Pi Zero and CHIP. True, these systems can not be called powerful.

The PINE64 miniature PC cannot be called powerful either. But its characteristics are significantly better than those of analogs, which sell for less than $ 20. The developers of PINE64 have equipped their device with a quad-core Allwinner 1.2 GHz 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 processor, 1 GB of RAM and other buns. All this is offered at a price of $ 15 for the younger model or $ 19 for the older. Soon, a fundraising campaign for this miniature computer is planned to be launched on Kickstarter.

However, it is for $ 15 you can order a modification with 512 MB of RAM and a 10/100 Ethernet port. But for $ 19 it is already possible to get a model with 1 GB of RAM, gigabit Ethernet and additional connectors, for connecting optional modules - a camera, a touch panel and a video adapter.

Both models have ARM Mali 400MP2 graphics, two USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI port with support for 3840 x 2160 resolution and a standard 3.5 mm audio port. There is no built-in data storage device, but there is a slot for memory cards with support up to 256 GB.

As the OS, you can use Android 5.1, Ubuntu Linux and other OS. To get a full-featured PC, connect a keyboard, mouse, display and network. There is also a 40-pin plug for connecting additional hardware that comes under the “raspberry” and is compatible with the Raspberry Pi.
