I came across safes, like many, not very often. But during this time, it was necessary to observe how they were opened, used and even set up an electronic combination lock on their own. That is, the user did not go further. In general, my idea of safes sounded like this: it contains what is hidden from prying eyes. Imagine my surprise when I first encountered a transparent safe not with a standard combination lock, but with a countdown timer.
And then for some reason I remembered the plot from Yeralash. ')
The name of this engineering marvel is Self Box. Its main essence is not so much in concealing what is stored inside, but in training willpower, since the bowl itself is made of transparent plastic and nothing can save the contents from a good hammer blow. But there is an element of willpower training. For example, at a meeting of friends, you can put all the phones in this safe and block them for several hours. Or put the joystick control inside the game console to limit the time to play. In general, the list of methods of use can be continued indefinitely, but for now let's move on to the technical specifications.
The device is quite roomy: the volume is 2.7 liters. The dimensions of the bowl are below the square with a side of 13 cm, and at the top is 16 cm. The height of the entire box is 17 cm.
Boxing dimensions
Managing it is as simple as the appearance: just one button, and that one is rotatable. Rotating it, you can set the time to lock the safe from 1 minute to 10 days. Pressing the button is the signal to start the lock. If there are doubts about the duration of the blocking, then 5 seconds is given to cancel the action. The blocking itself is made by teeth moving to the sides, which prevent the lid from opening. The mechanism does not have a reverse stroke and its opening is impossible. For unplanned and early opening, only brute physical force and hacking with the help of heavy objects is available. It looks like the launch and opening of the safe as follows.
The mechanism itself does not have a backstop, so it’s pointless to put pressure on the left tongue. Just like pulling out batteries. The drive motor only works when closing or opening the safe. They promise that on one set of batteries, the device can last up to six months. I also tried to deceive the device, although the instructions say that the emergency opening is the only way to break it. I decided to experiment and pull out the batteries for a long period - 1 hour. Upon returning the batteries to the place, I saw the time at which the safe had stopped before. Moreover, the safe remembers the value to the nearest minute and then from this minute continues to count, that is, pulling out the batteries, the time of imprisonment of things only increases.
Having played enough, I realized that such a thing is needed:
For training willpower
To temporarily limit the access of children to any things
In order for a company of friends to communicate, rather than show off pictures on smartphones
In order to protect your lunch from hungry colleagues in the office, if you use a common refrigerator
In order for someone not to seize the night before goodies
For fun
This djadget can not be attributed to the devices must have, but it can be a fun gift, serve for the benefit of (self) discipline, or allow you to save food until dinner. You can see and buy a transparent safe HERE .
