DrinkMate is a very small tube that can be used as a key chain and mounted on keys. The device is not autonomous - it works in conjunction with a smartphone, without which it is almost impossible to apply the basic functions of the device.





The mini tester has no battery or monitor. It represents only the sensor and the board. To get started with it, you need to install the DrinkMate application . After that, the profile settings are filled in the settings. To calculate the correct results, weight data is entered, indicate gender and unit of measurement.



To check your performance, the device connects to the smartphone and starts using the Start button.

The first 10 seconds are taken by the preparatory stage of the sensor. At this time, we hold the breathalyzer at a distance of 2–3 centimeters from the lips and wait for the “Ready” message to appear. As soon as it appears on the screen, it's time to start blowing. This should be done until another inscription appears: “Calculating BAC”. Also, the program will give a signal in the form of vibration. Then the result is displayed.



In the course of the experiment, observations were made when there was absolutely no alcohol in the body and when the thawed dose was taken. Half an hour after its use, the device was tested again. As a result, the mini-tester caught a small amount of alcohol in the blood.

The authors of the application advise not to take measurements after less than 15 minutes after the “taking on the chest.” During this period, the data will most likely be overestimated, and the sensor will then be cleared longer.

Among the fun functions of the breathalyzer is the suggestion to take selfies at various moments of intoxication, post these photos to social networks, and then create a face map.
