PuzzlePhone modular phone campaign launched at Indiegogo

Google Inc. runs the risk of not having time with its project of the Project Ara modular phone. The fact is that now there are already more similar projects than one. And some projects are already being implemented. So, on Indiegogo recently launched a campaign to raise funds for the phone PuzzlePhone. As previously reported , PuzzlePhone looks more real than competitors for one simple reason - there are much fewer modules. To be exact - only three. This display / case, battery, and everything else. The company itself calls the modules "brain" (electronics), "spine" (display and case) and "heart" (battery).

Now known characteristics of the device. So, the display will be 5-inch, with a resolution of 1920 * 1080 pixels. There will also be two cameras - rear (12 MP) and front (5 MP). Shooting will help LED flash. As for the processor, the device has a 64-bit 8-core ARM processor, plus 3 GB of RAM installed. The battery is quite capacious - 2800 mAh.

The most advanced model is the 64 GB version, which comes at a price of $ 777. Here there are copper inserts, the customer can receive and engraved text / image, if desired. All such copies will be collected 250 pieces.



The competitors of the phone are Fairphone 2 (the project is scheduled to be implemented in 2016) and Google Project Ara (also 2016). It may well be that the Chinese manufacturers, who have not yet shown their own versions of modular phones, will declare themselves by this time.
