Mink makeup printer developers have released a pen to create cosmetics at home

Two years ago, Mink introduced its unusual product - a device that receives a specified color as input and produces make-up of the desired color. To do this, the device mixes ingredients and dyes in the right proportions. The developers called this device a " 3D printer for make-up ."

Now they are offering another product , which they called “makeup pen” - however, this is also not a pen, just as their previous product was not a 3D printer in the full sense of the word. In fact, the Mink makeup pen is a mechanical syringe with the possibility of a dosed set of dye.

If for the “3D printer” it was necessary to set the color as hex, then for the “pen” there is a special mobile application. In it you need to make a photo of the desired color or select a photo from the gallery. By choosing the color you want, you will receive its parameters in the form of three numbers, CMY.

Next, for each of these numbers, you need to take the corresponding dye, and before setting the dye from the jar, put the number on the mechanical scoreboard "pens". The number, in fact, means the amount of paint that the syringe will pick up.



Mixing all the colors in the right proportion, you get the powder of the desired color, which can be used as a shadow, powder or blush. The brightness of the shade depends on the amount of the base having a white color. And thanks to the additional component with which the powder is mixed, you can also get lip gloss / lipstick.

It would seem magic. But for the toy Mink makeup pen is a little expensive - $ 295 , not counting the dyes and the basics for the mixture. And the quality of the resulting cosmetics remains in question. Perhaps this device will interest lovers of needlework and soap making, but it is unlikely to be the end of the cosmetic industry. Still, for many in the choice of makeup, the process itself is also important.
