Chinese electronics manufacturer introduced an electric robot that can be free

At the exhibition of consumer electronics in Beijing, the Chinese company LeEco presented many new products. Among the new models of smartphones, "smart" TVs and virtual reality helmets, the LeSEE electric robotic mobile was particularly highlighted . He is not only stuffed with smart "connected" electronics, but also, as conceived by the company, can first become part of car-sharing, and then completely distributed free of charge.

Although only a prototype was presented at the exhibition, the Chinese claim that the final version of their car will be able to give odds to the Tesla market leader “by all indicators”. At the same time, for example, the current LeSEE maximum speed is declared at the level of 209 km / h (for the Tesla model S, depending on the configuration, it is from 225 to 241 km / h).

A little strange set of differences LeSEE from conventional cars includes, for example, a large LED-screen, located on the front of the car (where usually have headlights and grille). As planned by the designers, it will be possible to display various information - for example, about the automatic or manual control mode, or whether a taxi is occupied or free (when the car is used as a taxi).

LeSEE really plan to use for passenger traffic. LeEco is developing a car-sharing platform for LeShare electric vehicles, and within the framework of the platform is Uber's Chinese competitor called Yidao.

The machine is designed as an Internet device - access to applications for the driver and passengers, changeable skins for screens of media devices, digital TV, separate listening to music and watching videos for each of the passengers. At the same time, LeSEE is strongly connected with LeEco smartphones - one of the presenters of the novelty demonstrated voice recognition when the car automatically traveled by commands dictated into the smartphone, and then parked itself.

The financial and technological partners of LeEco for the creation of the car were the companies Faraday Future and Aston Martin. The price of the car has not yet been disclosed. Market launch is scheduled for 2018.

The company's unusual approach to manufactured devices lies in the belief of managers that in some not very distant future, users will not be interested in the devices themselves, but only in the content that they can receive using the devices. In this regard, users will be ready to pay for content, and manufacturers will simply distribute the device for free.

Oddly enough, the same approach LeEco plan in the future to extend to cars. “One day this car will be free,” said Ding Lei, vice president and co-founder of the company, from the stage. What kind of “paid content” car users can receive so that it can be distributed free of charge - this question remains open.
