Unmanned "KAMAZ""Kamaz" with an unmanned control system, which
was described in detail at Geektimes by the developers of this system themselves , will soon appear on general purpose roads. From 2016, the truck without a driver will be released on the toll road M11 Moscow - St. Petersburg, testing will last until 2018.
Rosavtodor already spends 4 billion rubles annually. on the road markings for UAVs.
Testing an unmanned truck - part of the project "High-speed road corridors for unmanned vehicles", part of the "National Technology Initiative,"
write "Vedomosti". A week ago, it allocated 10 billion rubles from the budget. The following year, another 2.2 billion rubles will be allocated. True, this is the budget for all Russian technological projects, and not just the unmanned Kamaz. The exact budget of the autonomous truck will be known later when the ministries submit draft roadmaps with specific proposals. The allocation of funds deals with the Agency's strategic initiatives.

During the tests, a road train from 5–10 Kamaz trucks will be organized, and the driver will drive only the first of them, and only in difficult conditions. The remaining trucks should automatically copy the movement of the head machine.
Driving on the M11 is just the beginning. If everything goes well, the tests will continue on high-speed roads from Helsinki and Brest to Beijing. Rosavtodor has already begun negotiations with the Chinese and Europeans on this issue.
