The fact is that the city authorities are trying to make their settlement better. Now the authorities have adopted a new law, according to which it is necessary to install solar panels on all new buildings up to 10 floors high. Moreover, there is already a law here, according to which 15% of the roof area of new small and medium-sized buildings (10 floors and below) should be free to install solar panels.
Until now, the installation of the panels themselves was optional, although desirable. Now, after the adoption of the corresponding bill, the builders will have to take into account the need to install solar power plants on the roofs of houses. Presumably, in a developing city like San Francisco, by 2025, many new buildings will appear. Consequently, there will be many solar panels.
Now other countries and cities are trying to more actively use alternative sources of energy. These include, in addition to solar panels, wind power stations, solar thermal power plants, geothermal power stations, etc. Wind energy records set, for example, Denmark . And in 2015, Costa Rica received 99% of electricity from renewable sources.
There are, of course, problems. In Germany, there are already quite a few wind turbines, whose service life is coming to an end. How to dispose of old windmills? This was somehow not thought much earlier .
But in general, the tendency to switch to alternative energy sources is becoming increasingly pronounced. Is it good or bad? It will become clear in the near future.
