The founder of Amazon announced the choice of the place where its rockets will be built and take off.

Jeff Bezos, founder of retail giant Amazon, today announced that the missile plant and launch pad will be built in Florida. They will be located next to the Kennedy Space Center.

The John Fitzgerald Kennedy Space Center is a complex of facilities for launching spacecraft and flight control, owned by NASA and located on Merritt Island in Brevard County, Florida, USA. The center is located near Cape Canaveral.

$ 200 million will be spent on the construction of the plant right next to the Space Center, and the rockets will be launched from the site not far from there, which the US air force used to use.

Of course, the financing of the space program Bezos pulls not alone. The bulk of the investment comes from public sources, which is why the plant will be built right next to NASA. The state of Florida has already spent $ 2 billion to finance the space industry. Just last week, a line for assembling commercial spacecraft from Boeing opened in the same place.

In April of this year, Blue Origin conducted successful flight tests of the new BE-3 rocket engine. And in May, the launch vehicle was tested on the basis of this engine. During the tests, the rocket successfully reached the calculated height, after which the descent capsule separated from it, which then gently landed.

Bezos said that at the new launch site, the company will experience a new version of the BE-4 rocket engines. The company develops engines in close cooperation with the United Launch Alliance - a joint venture of long-standing partners and specialists in the development of government budgets , Lockheed Martin and Boeing.

Jeff Bezos with his private space company Blue Origin is competing in the space conquest field with SpaceX companies American Ilona Musk and Virgin Galactic Briton Richard Branson.
