Textured printing allows you to touch famous paintings.

At the exhibition Canon Expo, which takes place every five years, the company introduced the technology of textural printing. The picture is applied to the surface layer by layer, as is done on a 3D printer, giving the image a tangible volume.

The printer recognizes the number of layers in two versions of the image: color and black and white, understands where the shadows are, and finds out how much ink is needed for each zone. This is followed by a long printing process, but at the output you get an image with real physical depth. Hands can touch the muscles of the legs of the athlete or the girl's lips in the photo.

Technology has the potential to change the interaction of people with the masterpieces of the visual arts. Each element of the original painting can be reproduced, whether it be cracks, drops of paint or unevenness of the canvas. The reproduction can better convey the spirit of the original work.

In any case, school trips to the exhibition may become more interesting for children.
