Soroush Ghodsi, a 13-year-old Canadian resident (Soroush Ghodsi), developed a program called Slik that allows you to quickly obtain information about the appearance of IT start-ups around the world, track how much investment they were able to attract, data on the number of employees and other statistics. Slik is currently in closed beta testing.

The service algorithm allows you to search for startups in a constantly updated database. “To collect information about startups, the Slik algorithm tracks data from several million sites,” said the author of the project. What exactly, the student did not specify.

The results obtained can be filtered by various criteria - for example, by the amount of attracted funding, the number of staff or the user audience.

According to Sorush, the service is designed primarily for the following categories of people:
1. Venture investors who are looking for new investment opportunities.
2. Startups who with the help of Slik can track the results of competitors.
3. Journalists writing on IT topics.

Speaking about the financial side, Sorush Godzi said that supporting the project currently costs him several hundred dollars a month and so far he does not want to contact investors, fearing that it will negatively affect the Slik model of work and the very idea that is embedded in the service. .

Before Slik, a Canadian schoolboy had been fond of trading on the exchange for several years. The interest in this activity was instilled in him by his father, who is a financier. He told Sorush how to work with the Bloomberg exchange terminal and trade stocks.

Later, Godzi began studying the basics of programming in Python and Javascript, and even created a Twitter-bot Whisperly . The program allowed sending short anonymous messages to social network users. The project is currently closed. Shkolnik noted that now he gives all his strength to the development of Slik.
