Slack presents a new call feature

It all started in 2015, when the company acquired the service Screenhero , designed to remotely control a computer and display its screen. Then on the main page hung a notice that the developers are engaged in the integration of the functionality of the program in your messenger. Finally, this day has come.

At the moment , any group can connect this option, but this can only be done by a person with administrator rights. If you are connected to a paid rate, then it is possible to organize communication within any channel with a number of people not exceeding 15 people; free organizations should be content with only one-on-one negotiations. The call button appears in each dialog, so the call takes a few seconds.

In the channel dialogue, a notification appears among the messages, by clicking on which anyone can join the conversation.



During the call, the newly introduced reaction function is also available, when the user can send emoji and thereby "react" to them. This is convenient in the case when you do not have a microphone.



The company also promised to add a video and screen display. In mobile applications, calls will also appear soon.
