Startup RoboKiller automatically eliminates advertising calls from robots

At the competition of the US Federal Trade Commission, dedicated to the fight against automatic advertising calls, the main prize of $ 25,000 was won by a startup RoboKiller . The competition "Robocalls: Humanity Strikes Back" (car audio: humanity gives change) is designed to promote technology to get rid of annoying telephone advertising.

Recently, at least in the USA, technologies make it difficult to make car calls - starting from the automatic selection of a reverse phone number from a list of local numbers for a victim, and ending with voice recognition systems, thanks to which robots can successfully “talk” and pretend to be live people by phone.

Due to the progress of VoIP-technology, unscrupulous advertisers have access to large lists of telephone numbers, which will be difficult to manually blacklist. This is where RoboKiller’s startup features come in handy.







The system works as follows: after installing the application on the smartphone, all incoming calls are redirected to the RoboKiller cloud system. Their system takes the call, sending a signal about “lifting the tube”, and analyzes its various parameters, such as the presence of pauses between words without extraneous noise, etc. At the same time, in response, the system sends a sound emulation of beeps - if a live person calls the phone, he decides that he hasn’t picked up the phone at the other end.



If the system decides that the call is made by the robot, it will refuse it. The live person will be redirected to the user's phone.



Now a startup is raising money for Kickstarter - for the remaining 12 days before the end of the company, they need to collect a little more than $ 60 thousand. Among the proposals for donors is life-long access to the application for those who are now giving away $ 65 in support of the project. All backers are also promised to give immediate access to the beta version of the product.
