Why this post?
Epson projectors use filters to protect devices from one of their main enemies — dust. We consider filters to be a vital component of a modern device that uses fans to inject air. However, some manufacturers of projectors
completely refuse to use filters in their products, telling stories about how difficult it is to maintain the filter, and how often it is required to do it, etc. Of course, it is much easier to
do nothing , and instead of the simplest cleaning the filter in If something happens to carry the projector in service, right? ..
We at Epson do not think so. Filter - a device for extending the life of the projector. He serves faithfully and day after day, protecting electronics, optics and the matrix from dust, and served in less than five minutes.
In this post we will briefly share our experience in caring for projectors equipped with air filters, since Epson projectors are installed in the meeting rooms of the Epson Moscow office
(surprise-surprise!) ')
Attempt No. 1 - meeting room No. 1
An
Epson EB-1430Wi projector is installed in one of our meeting
rooms :
It was decided to look at the theoretical part on the website Epson.ru, where, having entered the model name in the search, we quickly found a user manual, which contains prescriptions for filter care, which are as follows:
- If the projector displays the message “The projector has overheated. Inspect the vent hole, clean or replace the air filter. ” , Then turn off the projector and do what is asked.
- If the message appears after cleaning, the filter must be replaced.
- Cleaning the filter is recommended once every three months (and not once every two weeks, as unfounded by some manufacturers), and in a dusty room - more often.
Armed ... Yes, nothing, in general, even a screwdriver is not needed, we remove the filter from the projector being investigated and ... do not find traces of dust on it:
Turning to the technical staff, we find out that the projector was installed
in March 2015 (now January 2016), it was not serviced.
Attempt number 2 - meeting room number 3
For interesting material, experts sent us to negotiation number 3, in which the
Epson EB-1410Wi projector has been hanging since April 2013 and also has never been serviced.
Remove the filter and - oh luck! - see that it is dusty! There will be something to tell!
Vacuum cleaner filter:
Put the filter in place:
Done! Now you can forget about maintenance for a year or two more (until the next publication =).
We will continue to look for interesting materials and photofacts, highlighting topics that are often raised by users of technology when they contact our technical support service. Thanks for attention!
We would be grateful if you share your experience using the projector with a filter: how often do you service it and how much does it “strain”?
