Epson and the "School of New Technologies"

In 2014-2015, for the first time, Epson took part in the School of New Technologies project, which is annually implemented with the organizational support of the Information Technologies Department and the Moscow Department of Education. The project consists of a series of competitions, educational activities and activities for the technological modernization of schools. The goal of the project is to make the school a modern center of innovation, a laboratory that allows students to realize their ideas and reveal talents. This is not the first year that Epson has set itself the same goal, for example, offering projectors for education .

This season, Epson has become one of the “employer companies” and jury members in the “ Real Affairs School ” project and applied research contest.

The essence of the competition was in the decision of students of various cases, created by IT-companies. Each team had to present its unique solution and a detailed report on the work done in the form of a presentation and video recording. In evaluating the competition works, not only the idea itself, but also the quality of its implementation was taken into account: the distribution of roles in the team, the research work done, the economic justification for the proposed solution, and other parameters, many of which depended on the specifics of the problem.

The uniqueness of the competition with the participation of Epson was that, thanks to the ease of use of technology, even high school students could independently prepare interactive lessons and demonstrate them using Epson technology.

The task was fascinating: to develop an interesting interactive lesson on any school subject using Epson Printing Factory printers, interactive projectors and Epson document cameras. This allowed not only to acquaint students with the current trends in education, but also to demonstrate the maximum capabilities of Epson technology in the field of education. The topic was chosen for a reason: just at the time of the competition, many schools were working to adapt the educational process to the previously acquired interactive technology. We decided to invite students to become partners in the process and take the initiative in order to independently develop, without the participation of teachers, such lessons that they themselves consider educational and interesting.

For more than three months, schoolchildren were engaged in theoretical and practical study of the issue, made up case plans, independently conducted tests and experiments, worked on the substantive part. The teams coped remarkably well with the task, and we would like to share videos of the presentations of the winning schools:
