DIY Hikaru Skirt
Hikaru's skirt means “Shining Skirt” - a new fashion trend in Japan from designer Kiyoyuki Amano.

She decided to make a denim mini / micro skirt with a battery and a smart lighting controller hidden in the belt buckle.
She hid a 5050 LED strip inside the waterproof tube and attached the tape to the skirt with safety pins.
And when testing for the first time, it turned out that the pins heat up and burn skin painfully. She fixed this bug by stitching a 0.2mm fishing line to the skirt:
The next step was to make a belt buckle on a 3D printer, where the battery and electronics would be hidden.
She created a project for a printer using Tinkercad.com, it was simpler than OpenSCAD and she was already familiar with this application. Later, she made the buckle more compact (Thanks to SelenIT2 for the continued sequel).

Next came the turn of the controller.
In the skirt of Hikaru, Arduino is used, who himself decides what to do. She wanted to “control the skirt” using a mobile phone, which gives a more complex control and makes the skirt really smart. Therefore, she was interested more in the software part than in hardware, which was made by a ready-made Bluetooth RGB LED ribbon controller.
Further fitting, fitting and assembly buckles:
The size of the buckle was determined by the capacity of the Li-ion battery used. If in such projects the demonstration time is short and a few minutes of work are enough, then she also wanted the food to last for 3-5 hours of the party. Therefore, the biggest detail in the buckle is a 12V 2Ah battery.
