Lenovo introduces ThinkPad Chromebook at CES2016

Lenovo at CES2016 will show two new notebooks of the ThinkPad line. Model ThinkPad 13 is available in two versions: for Chrome OS and Windows. The models are almost identical except for a few details - for example, the red trackpoint is only in the Windows version.

Lenovo ThinkPad 13 Ultrabook weighs 1.45 kilograms, has a 13.3-inch display, the thickness of its body - 19.8 millimeters. In the maximum configuration in the laptop uses the latest generation Intel Core i7, 16 gigabytes of DDR4 RAM and 512 gigabytes of SSD memory. The device has one USB-C port and three full-size USB ports. The company is positioning this laptop as a device for professionals, students and teachers, and those who need to work all day. Operating systems to choose from - WIndows 7 Professional, Windows 10 Pro or Home, Ubuntu Linux. ThinkPad 13 with Windows will start selling in April 2016 at a price of $ 449.

Another version of the ThinkPad 13 - with Chrome OS on board - will go on sale in June 2016 and will cost $ 50 cheaper, $ 399. The difference in the keyboard immediately catches the eye: in this version there is no classic red trackpoint, because Google has strict rules for hardware for devices on Chrome OS. Other differences have affected the ports - there is no HDMI port in the chromebook, there are two USB Type-C and only one USB port.
