Another build (10136) Windows 10 Mobile is available for insiders
Yesterday evening, the distribution of a new build to Windows Insider program members - Windows 10 Technical Preview 10136 began.
It is worth noting that the new build is available only for a clean update from Windows Phone 8.1, an update from build 10080 (84) is not yet available (Gabe Aul said on his twitter that it would take about a week to fix the problem).
Known bugs in build 10136:
At the end of the update, you will see your smartphone lock screen without displaying the date and time. This screen will display up to 10 minutes. This screen is now displayed instead of the old data migration screen. No, it's worth pulling the power button or the battery of the device. This process should end on its own, so just sit, relax and wait for the process to finish.
After the upgrade, you will see the repeating tiles of some applications.
If you have entered the wrong PIN many times, the phone will prompt you to enter “A1B2C3” instead of a 30-second wait. However, there is a bug due to which, after entering the PIN, the keyboard for entering the PIN is not displayed. It is solved by pressing the emergency call button and returning back to entering the PIN. Microsoft also recommends that you temporarily disable double tapes to wake up the screen on Lumia smartphones.
There is a bug due to which Skype may not work after the update. The best solution is to remove Skype on Windows Phone 8.1 before upgrading and then install on Windows 10 Mobile. If you’ve already upgraded and Skype doesn’t work, just uninstall the app and reinstall it.
Fixed and improved:
Fixed a bug with MMS messages. Now MMS messages should come in normal mode.
Fixed a bug due to which the lock screen did not respond to user clicks and did not allow to unlock the screen.
Fixed bugs with the rendering of the notification center.
Fixed a bug that caused the text in the contacts app to be too small.
Now pressing the WiFi switch in the notification center activates or deactivates the wireless network, instead of sending you to WiFi settings.
Fixed bug with incorrect scaling of the home screen background.
Now you can add detailed information from applications to the lock screen and the settings application will not crash.
Fixed a bug that caused the mouse cursor to appear on the screen.
What's new?
Tons of fixes and improvements: too many different improvements and fixes. Many obvious you will notice immediately. For example, the lock code entry panel is now transparent and flies over your picture, rather than “pushing” it to the top. You will notice a lot of changes in fonts, icons, layers, and so on. The overall user experience will be much more enjoyable than the one you saw in 10080. There are a lot of improvements and rework done now, so you will see even more changes in the next build.
Cortana enhancements: The Cortana feature set has gone through a large set of enhancements and is now very close to the final look and design. Microsoft listened to users and added a dark theme to the interface. Now viewing of flights and packages is included, you can ask about the weather, exchange rates, promotions and many other things.
Enhancements for photos and cameras: click on the month in the photo attachment for a list of months and to quickly jump to the desired period of time. You can also double tap to enlarge the photo. The application of photos received a significant increase in performance and stability. If you are using a build on Lumia 640, 640 XL, Icon, 930 or 1520, take a look at the Lumia Camera Beta app. Make it a standard camera application, as it contains a number of new features specific only to your Lumia.
Use with one hand: if you have a smartphone with 5 inches or more, in the new assembly you will see a lightweight use with one hand. Hold the key home and the screen will move down so that you can reach the interface elements you need. To restore the screen, click on an empty space on the screen.
In general, as promised by Microsoft, the assembly differs from the previous ones with improved stability. Installing the update is available on all devices that support the previous build (no new supported devices have been added). Learn more about updating to the Microsoft blog .
