The New York Times Home Page Will Be Locked
The home page of the largest and most respected American newspaper, The New York Times, will be blocked ... for the editorial staff itself.
This announcement was posted on Twitter by the deputy front page editor Clifford Levy (by the way, in the recent past, the head of the Moscow bureau of the newspaper):
Over the past few years, NYT has evolved from a traditional newspaper into a modern media company. While many newspapers are closing, NYT is making money on a subscription (including my $ 15 a month) and stays afloat. Since half of the readers of the digital version of The Times read newspaper materials from mobiles or tablets, the newspaper’s management decided to radically force employees to pay attention to this channel.

Now, a week for journalists, editors and other newspaper employees working at the headquarters of the NYT will display a stub instead of the usual home page on the desktops. I wonder how effective this “experiment” will be.
