The web has published a secret catalog of spy equipment by US intelligence agencies to monitor citizens' cell phones.

Today, the web has got the most interesting information - a catalog of equipment that is used by US special services to monitor the cellular devices of citizens of the country. The catalog was posted by The Intercept resource, and the site’s journalists received information from an employee of the special services, who does not like stricter monitoring of citizens in the country.

There are 53 devices in the catalog, including the rather well-known Stingray I / II surveillance systems. The range is about 200 meters, and the cost of such a gadget is $ 134,000. In general, there is nothing cheap in the catalog, the special services and the military (they also use such equipment) clearly don’t spare money for such things.

In addition to Stingray, there are many other surveillance systems in the catalog, including portable ones. They can be installed on cars, drones, manned aircraft. There are also whole stationary installations; individual observation means are also presented. The corresponding system names are Cyberhawk, Yellowstone, Blackfin, Maximus, Cyclone, and Spartacus.

The main producers of surveillance systems are CIA, NSA (only one device) and special enterprises. More than a third of the catalog items are devices that nobody previously wrote or heard about.

And the capabilities of the systems are quite significant. For example, several systems may store a “target list” of 10,000 cell phone identifiers. Using such systems, you can locate a person, intercept SMS and eavesdrop on conversations. Two systems can extract files, address books, notes from a target device. One system is able to receive already deleted text messages.

Almost all the presented gadgets are base station simulators. They emulate the cellular tower of the largest mobile operators. When someone's phone is connected to such a station, special services are able to locate a person and perform many other operations. Such stations can monitor subscribers' conversations and intercept SMS messages.

In general, the catalog is extremely interesting, the full list can be found here .
