Microsoft will customize Windows 10 for the Chinese government

The joint venture that appeared in Beijing, tentatively called C & M Technologies, is still in the legalization stage, but Microsoft representatives insist that, in addition to government agencies, the project will serve "state-owned enterprises from key infrastructure areas such as energy, telecommunications and transport."

A joint venture between Microsoft and the China Electronics Technology Group (CTEC) was established in September. Moreover, the established partnerships were supposed to help strengthen the position of Microsoft in China. Over the past few years, the American company has steadily increased its potential in the profitable market of the Middle Kingdom, concluding contracts with such major Chinese brands as Tencent, Lenovo and Xiaomi. However, the problem of selling pirated copies of Windows is still not resolved. A blow to the company's image is also inflicted on Chinese consumers, who, after the NSA spying scandal, perceived foreign software as a tool for tracking Internet users.

The legalization of the joint venture marks the beginning of a new era in relations between the Chinese government and Microsoft. In 2014, the Chinese government initiated an antitrust company against Microsoft, and then completely banned the use of Windows 8 in state institutions. Despite the fact that the Chinese government had previously spent hundreds of millions of dollars to purchase copies of the Microsoft operating system, government officials were still unhappy with the high prices and poor quality of product technical support, especially after Microsoft abandoned Windows XP, which was actively used Chinese consumers.
