Richard Wiiggen [Richard Vijgen] has
created a mobile app for iOS, demonstrating the abundance of radio waves that surround a city dweller every second. True, his application shows only radiation from Wi-Fi, mobile towers and GPS satellites, and receives data from the base, but not in real time.
The Architecture of Radio project (radio architecture) is rather an interactive art installation than a useful tool. Since the application uses a public database, it will not "see" your newly installed router. Public databases contain information on 7 million cell phone towers, 19 million Wi-Fi routers and hundreds of satellites.
Do not forget that in addition to wi-fi and GPRS with GPS, there is also FM-radio, which is still quite common for analog television, civilian and police radio stations, etc.

However, as a small entertainment application looks funny. In the style of augmented reality, it turns your smartphone or tablet into a window into the world of radio waves, invisible to the human eye and imperceptible by other senses.
This application was presented by a Dutch artist at his exhibition, currently taking place at the Center for the Arts in Karlsruhe (Germany).
An iOS app costs $ 2.99, and for Android users it will only be available next year.
