In honor of the release of his book "
Thing Explainer " Randall Munro released the "little" game
Hoverboard - the field in which you fly on a hoverboard and collect 17 coins.
As for the “small” game, the author joked. If you have the courage to break the rules, then you will leave the playing area - and then plunge into the huge, truly endless world of Hoverboard. While traveling, also collect coins (minimum of 169), reading traditional Monroe jokes, comments and questions along the way.

Many secrets of the game, including cheats and exploits, are described in the
XKCD encyclopedia , but the community has not yet explored the game.
Map files are stored in simple PNG files using the X: Y + s.png scheme. For example:

xkcd.com/1608/1013:-1096+s.png
.
Each file has a size of 513x513 pixels, one pixel is reserved for overlapping with adjacent areas to ensure inconspicuous movement from site to site. So far, the community has explored the space in coordinates from 928 to 1108 in X and from -1112 to -928 in Y. To get the name of the file with the map from the coordinates of the player, simply divide by 512 and round down.
