Tesla has acquired an auto parts manufacturer in the state where Tesla electric vehicle sales are prohibited.

Tesla Motors has acquired the Michigan company Riviera Tool. Earlier in Michigan, the sale of electric vehicles of this company was prohibited, because, according to the laws of the state, a car manufacturer cannot sell them directly. Sales must go through the dealer, and Tesla Motors refuses to work with intermediaries.

Now Tesla went to Michigan through the purchased company. As far as one can understand, the right to sell Tesla Motors electric cars is still not received. But here Tesla can sell parts and tools for its electric cars without any problems.

The fact is that the company Riviera Tool specializes in creating stamping systems, which allows you to create various parts for auto from individual metal sheets. The purchased company will be renamed Tesla Tool & Die. Now the company employs 100 people, all of them will go to Tesla. In addition, the manufacturer of electric cars hopes to cooperate with other auto parts manufacturers in the region.
