Buy a car in a vending machine? Not a problem: throw a coin, get a car
There are a lot of cars in the world. But buying a car is still quite a complex and lengthy process. It is often not enough to come to the salon and pay for your car - you usually have to wait for the order, and a decent amount of time. But now everything has changed, at least in one city - in Nashville, USA. There is a vending machine installed that sells ... cars.
A few years ago, Carvana began working on an online car sales platform. The process of buying a car on the sites of Carvana is similar to what happens in the cabin, including the choice of the type of payment, the choice of a guarantee, the signing of the contract. But less time is needed - you can buy a car in just 20 minutes. Buyers can also choose the delivery option - pick up the car yourself or wait for delivery. Now there is a third option: a vending machine. “We know that if a buyer comes and picks up a car on his own, then this allows us to save on delivery. Therefore, we decided to invest in something that customers should definitely like, ”says Carvana CEO Jerni Garcia. The funds were invested in a vending machine that sells cars, and it does this in a fully automatic mode. And to buy a car you don’t need to put a wad of bills or a credit card in the slot of the machine. Enough coins. ')
Rather, it is not even a coin, but a coin, which should be thrown into the slot. The car is pulled down by robots, then another robot delivers the car to the parking lot, where the buyer receives his goods.
It is clear that all this is just a ceremony, because the customer makes a purchase in advance. But this way of getting your car impresses everyone, even the most technically savvy customers.
The company's investment in a vending machine is quite large, but not as much as it might seem. The fact is that Carvana now employs fewer employees, rents less space for salons, transports fewer cars. All this allows you to save about $ 2,000 on each machine sold. It is possible that soon Carvana will begin to install such vending machines in other US cities.
And robots are now keeping order on the shelves , so that everyone has enough of everything.
