The government of Chile supports bitcoin startups not only in words but also in money

The first Bitcoin exchanger in Chile was supported by the Chilean government, and officials allocated $ 40,000 from the state fund for the startup. This step was approved by the entire Bitcoin community (as it were), as well as by lawyers who work in the field of cryptocurrency. In particular, Canadian lawyer Matthew Bargoin expressed in the spirit that Chile is almost the only government that supported Bitcoin.

Note that the governments of a number of countries, if not banned the work of their citizens with cryptocurrency, did not give Bitcoin approval. The Chilean exchanger, SurBTC, received funds from a business incubator, which is funded by the Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism of Chile.

According to the creator of SurBTC, the government of Chile went to this step, because it sees a chance in cryptocurrency to solve the many financial and banking problems in the region. In particular, Bitcoin as a means of payment can be used where there is no deployed banking infrastructure.

It should be noted that in South America, cryptocurrencies are generally respected. For example, Argentina adjacent to Chile, which has repeatedly declared a default, is now trying to fully support Bitcoin. In 2014, in Buenos Aires, there were six places, companies that accept cryptocurrency, per million inhabitants. In the same New York, there are only four such companies. In South America, the banking system is not very efficient, and is constantly being exposed to new shocks.

According to some experts, Bitcoin may be a chance to stabilize the region’s shaky economies. Of course, this is still far away, but, as we see, the authorities of Chile, Argentina and some other countries support cryptocurrency, so that everything can turn out to be quite real.
