Hideo Kojima, author of the legendary Metal Gear franchise, officially left the ranks of the Konami gaming studio, where he has worked for the past 29 years. According to The New Yorker, Hideo’s last working day was 9 October. Kojima’s departure from Komani does not mean that he left Kojima Productions, which he founded with Konami in 2005.
Rumors about Kojima's care went a long time, and it all started after the release of the last part of the MG-Metal Gear Solid V franchise: Phantom Pain. Earlier this year, Konami had already
canceled the development of a new part of Silent Hills , on which Kojima was supposed to work with Guillermo Del Toro. Also, the name Hideo is no longer featured in the list of authors of Metal Gear Solid V.
Konami does not give any information about what the eminent developer will do next. Perhaps Kojima "will disappear from the radar" due to the fact that they signed an agreement "on non-competition" with the former employer. The Japanese company, in turn, claims to change its business model. Now Konami will focus on the mobile gaming market, abandoning the AAA segment.

In September, it was reported that Konami turned off all its AAA projects, with the exception of Metal Gear Online and Pro Evolution Soccer 2016. According to a company representative posted by the Nintendo Life portal, Konami will not abandon its console series - Metal Gear, Silent Hill and Castlevania, above which, apparently, will now work independently, without Kojima.
