New service for watching movies from torrents right in the browser

A new service for watching movies from a torrent right in the browser appeared on the Internet. MovBucket offers to stream the video stream, which you choose yourself, to your browser window. Video must be set using magnet links - this is a unique file identifier in peer-2-peer networks using the BitTorrent protocol.

Work on the content downloading is done by the MovBucket server itself, and the video stream is already being sent to the browser, which is played by the JWPlayer player. The service even offers to select the desired file from the group, if they are distributed in one package. Only MP4 and FLV video is supported. Video rewind is not available - only a pause.

The service does not advertise torrents, does not place links to content and does not take money for its work, therefore, it will be more difficult to find fault with it from a legal point of view than, moreover, Popcorn Time. According to the explanations of the author of the server, a programmer from the fraternal Serbia, Milan Kragujevich, his server does not change the contents of the video, but acts only as a proxy.

A similar service Jocker.org already appeared last year. However, it was quickly closed at the request of the copyright holders and has not been opened since. Claims to him were described as follows:

- illegal downloading of content without permission of the copyright holder
- storing and caching parts of content
- conversion and playback of content to users through a video stream in the browser

Update : the author of the service soon after the release of the article changed the system so that in order to use it, it was necessary to install a browser plugin. However, it turned out that he was reading in Russian, and after reading critical comments on the article, he changed the system back, while limiting the simultaneous number of threads sent by the server.
